Privacy Policy

Data Collection

Loupe is a local-first application. All your projects, feedback points, screenshots, annotations, and voice recordings are stored exclusively on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or store any of your content on our servers.

License Validation

When you activate or validate a license key, Loupe sends the following information to Polar.sh (our payment processor):

• Your license key
• A machine identifier (your device's hostname) for activation tracking

This data is processed by Polar.sh under their privacy policy. We do not operate our own license server.

AI Timestamp Extraction

If you configure a Gemini API key, screenshots may be sent to Google's Gemini API for timestamp extraction. This is optional and requires your explicit API key configuration. See Google's AI terms for details.

Analytics and Tracking

Loupe does not include any analytics, telemetry, or tracking of any kind. We do not use cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics services in the desktop application.

Update Checks

Loupe periodically checks GitHub Releases for available updates. This sends a standard HTTP request to GitHub's servers. No personal information is included in these requests.
